R.I.P. Leonard Cohen

As everyone knows, Leonard Cohen, the legendary, Canadian singer-songwriter, has passed away.  It’s a day to listen to his music and/or read some of his poetry.

A recent issue of The New Yorker had a great article about him:

It is not surprising that the man who became an iconic, world-renowned songwriter began his career as a poet.  Literary Hub has an article with some of his poems and you can even hear him recite a few:

And because this is Remembrance Day, it’s appropriate to listen to Cohen recite “In Flanders Fields” by John McCrae, another Canadian poet:

Cohen was also a novelist.  Schatje’s Shelves has a copy of his books, Beautiful Losers, which I have never read.  Today is perhaps the day to do so.
